ABOUT ME
My name is Tina Maguire. I am a retired court reporter with 16 years of experience working in depositions, court, hearings and arbitrations. I’ve been scoping for the last 18 years. As a reporter and a scopist, I have worked every conceivable kind of case.
SCOPING SERVICES
I provide freelance transcript scoping services for reporters. My specialties include expert, technical and medical cases, and I have a broad range of experience with all types of cases. My years spent working as a court reporter mean I understand the attention to detail that a cleanly prepared transcript requires.
RATES
RATE: $1.25 per page, no fees
TURNAROUND TIME: All transcripts are scoped and returned in five days, excluding Sunday.
EXPEDITE: A 10% charge will be added for each day sooner than five days.

MY PROCESS
COMMUNICATION
When I receive your transcript, I will email you a confirmation and tell you the day it will be returned. Sometimes you will receive it back sooner, but never later. Sometimes things happen and life gets in the way, but I will always keep you informed and try to never let you down.
AUDIO
I can work with or without audio. If provided, I always listen to all audio with every job, unless I’m told just to spot check.
MARKS
I will mark your transcript with ^check if you should check that line; ^check word to check one word; ^listen if I can’t understand the audio and there’s a question; and others as need be.
PREFERENCES
I offer a preference sheet for new clients to use as a starting point. As we work together, I strive to get to know how my clients like things done and will keep your preferences updated as needed. My goal is to send your transcripts back to you as clean as possible for easy proofing.
SOFTWARE
I use version 20 of Case CATalyst. When I return your finished transcript, I will rename it with the original name plus “scoped” at the end so that you can distinguish it from your original file.
PAYMENT
I send invoices via email on the first of the month and ask for payment within 30 days of receipt. You can send a check or pay with Paypal, if you like.
